Care

METAL CARE

• Precious metals can be gently cleaned using a soft bristle brush and warm water with dish soap such as dawn. An old but clean toothbrush can work well for this. Clean gently to avoid accidentally bending ear posts and other delicate areas. Dry immediately and thoroughly with a soft cloth to avoid water marks. Ultrasonic machines and chemicals/cleaners can damage gemstones.

• Broad/ flat surfaces, such as some tie clips and earrings, can show fingerprints easier than skinnier surfaces. It is advised that a polishing cloth is used to wipe accessible areas clean before storing.

• Tie bars are bent and adjusted for a particular tension. Be careful not to over-stretch the bend with too many layers of fabric. We advise only the front of the tie and dress shirt be clamped. The tail of the tie should be stuffed into the shirt between the buttons. Over-stretched tie clips are not covered in the one year warranty.

VARIOUS TIPS & INFORMATION

  • Store jewelry in a cool dry place
  • Avoid water, harsh chemicals, and abrasives whenever possible
  • Avoid sleeping with jewelry on or lifting heavy objects while wearing jewelry
  • Wait for lotions and perfume to fully dry before wearing jewelry
  • Polishing cloths can be used on bare metal to brighten sufaces but avoid this on darkened metal finishes as it will remove the patina potentially.
  • It is normal for metal surfaces to “burnish” with normal use. Both bare metal and darkened, patinated, metal may become shinier on surfaces over time.
  • Precious metals are soft. They will dent and show blemishes over time. Do your best to mitigate day-to-day wear for a longer lasting original finish.
